He has carried out fieldwork among Saami and Finnish people in Lapland, and has written on environment, technology and social organisation in the circumpolar North, on animals in human society, and on human ecology and evolutionary theory.\u00a0His more\u00a0recent work explores environmental perception and skilled practice. Ingold\u2019s current interests lie on the interface between anthropology, archaeology, art and architecture. His recent books include\u00a0<em>The Perception of the Environment<\/em>\u00a0(2000),\u00a0<em>Lines<\/em>\u00a0(2007),\u00a0<em>Being Alive<\/em>\u00a0(2011),\u00a0<em>Making<\/em>\u00a0(2013),\u00a0<em>The Life of Lines<\/em>\u00a0(2015),\u00a0<em>Anthropology and\/as Education<\/em>\u00a0(2018),\u00a0<em>Anthropology: Why it Matters\u00a0<\/em>(2018),\u00a0<em>Correspondences\u00a0<\/em>(2020),\u00a0<em>Imagining for Real<\/em>\u00a0(2022) and\u00a0<em>The Rise and Fall of Generation Now\u00a0<\/em>(2023). Ingold is a Fellow of the British Academy and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
