The national Youth Secretariat in conjunction with the diocesan youth chaplains
organized a workshop for the Young Christian Students in Malawi. It took place in
Lilongwe at Our lady of Africa Conference Centre, from 17th -19th February,
2017. Each diocese was asked to bring 10 delegates to the meeting. Eleven
members from this diocese attended the meeting including the diocesan chaplain
and the patron from Mary Mount Sec School.

The students were grilled in the following areas; understanding YCS movement,
the YCS method, leadership in the Church and finally the role patrons.
The meeting was very successful. There was a huge turn- out of students from
across the country. It was very historic, being the first of its kind in decades. At
the end, there were elections of National YCS executive. The chairmanship went
to Zomba diocese and Mzuzu diocese scooped the position of Leader At large.
